When I get irritated @ work / home, I constantly bite my tongue and remind myself there are millions of ppl in this world whose lives are far worse than my own but still struggling to cope wif  their difficult situation. 
 
Sure my life is not perfect by any means  ~ but whose is?   And lately, I've tried to put things in perspective ~  How do my problems stack up to the majority of the world's population. The answer? They don't and I've to admit that my so-called "problems" are laughable compared to most people's. 
 
Sure we all need to vent and complaining can let off steam. But who doesn't have problems n bad days ? ~ And could be much worse!!!!
 
So,instead of complaining, I often try to remind myself of all the wonderful things I should be thankful for. And there are always ways that can be changed to make life better ~  It juz takes a little effort. 


 

又是會考成績公佈的時候, 今年共有3名6優狀元,  媒體例以大篇幅報導新科狀元們的讀書心得及未來志向。 

無論是古代的科舉或現代的會考，都讓孩子活在競爭中!!! 考上狀元，有些是天資聰穎，有些是靠後天努力 ~ 然而, 不管是哪一種，在當上狀元以後，對前路往往寄望更大, 他們必須帶著這個心理包袱，繼續優秀下去, 永無止盡! 

社會精英制, 於是父母都力谷子女成為十項全能，他們的期望，令孩子們壓力加重, 所以現今即使僅是preteen的小學生也走上自殺之路 ~  於是, 在成為明星學生前，他們已成為社會版的一條新聞了! 

當然, 社會的成功，有賴菁英的推進 (注意:有賴不是全賴), 但似乎華人社會對菁英特別迷信, 而且對菁英的定義也特別狹窄 ~ 只要擠入名校 / 名公司就等於人中之龍, 但事實是品德和成績不一定成正比 ~ 搞出金融海嘯的wall street，不都是名校畢業的高材生嗎? 結果這些人既沒品德，也沒能力，擅長的不過是貪婪和投機 ~ 像本世紀最大的金融騙子前NASDAQ 的chairman Bernard Madoff (剛於昨天被判150年監禁)。 

每當看到菁英墮落的新聞，我總在想 ~ 如果這些人不曾是菁英，如果學校、公司、政府、社會從不曾給這些人屬於精英的權力和待遇，他們墮落的機率會變高，還是減少？ ~  當然, 在下只是耆英不是精英, 所以不知道統計學的答案!!! 

其實, 滿分、第一、狀元、菁英....等，只在人生某個層面有意義, 因為學校的考試可以科科滿分，但無窮盡的人生考試，沒有人可以 / 可能每一科都滿分 ~  正如ONJ說的, 也許到頭來，有一個健康快樂的家庭, 就好算高材生了 。 

Have to say children these days really grow up tooooooooooooo fast!!!!  

Not too long ago, I shockingly heard that sexting has already become a trend among teens (even pre-teens!!!).Then last week,  I saw an article in a local newspaper featured  a new book and documentary DVD called "Oral Sex is the New Goodnight Kiss" (by Sharlene Azam), where the writer explored the growing phenomenon of middle-class gals trading sex for money/ drugs / luxury goods.

In this juz-released documentary, Azam recounts a case few years back where Edmonton police broke up a ring of up to 50 gals all from one same Edmonton high school. Surprisingly none of the gals said they were forced to have sex .

 "I can work @ KFC and make $100 a week, or I can make $400 a nite for that" one gal said.

 "Five minutes and I got $100. If I'm going to sleep wif them, anyway, becoz they're good-looking, might as well get paid for it, right?" the other said.

And they're even angry wif police for shutting off their cash flow!!!!

I'm sorry to say that but these gals honestly spoken like a slut to me.

 So Who's or what's to blame for the ever-increasing promiscuity of teenagers today?

Most parents place the blame on technology and media.  Well, of course! It’s never the person’s fault. The internet has “sped up teens’ sexual willingness and behavior”. That must be it! It has nothing to do wif the quality of parenting these kids receive. Their cell phones are forcing them into sexting. Web cams are hypnotizing them into performing online stripteases. Yup, it all makes perfect sense now ~ kids are all innocent!!!!!
